Every direct-billing network pays out to a specific provider/payee number, not just a licence. MSP's is covered under British Columbia below; ICBC, WorkSafeBC-style boards, and each private insurer each have their own provider-registration step, noted alongside their entry in Direct Billing.

MSP Practitioner Registration (HLTH 2848)
This is what actually gets you your MSP Practitioner number and Payee number: the two numbers Teleplan needs on every claim. File it directly with Health Insurance BC before applying for Teleplan access.

Once registered, a practitioner files one of these depending on how they bill: HLTH 2820 ("opted in") if billing Teleplan directly under their own Data Centre number, or HLTH 2771 ("opted out") if billing through a vendor or clearinghouse instead, such as MyTCM once its own Teleplan vendor status is live.
